The reception formally welcomed officials from Fujian Province and members of a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) delegation currently in Davao City from July 21 to 23, 2026, as part of a healthcare cooperation initiative.
During their three-day visit, the delegation will provide free Traditional Chinese Medicine consultations to local residents while engaging with local government officials and healthcare professionals in discussions aimed at sharing medical knowledge, promoting cultural exchange, and strengthening healthcare cooperation.

Among the traditional treatments to be offered are acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Tuina, a therapeutic Chinese massage recognized for its role in promoting healing, pain relief, and overall wellness.
Vice Mayor Duterte thanked the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Davao and the visiting medical team for sharing their expertise and extending free medical services to the people of Davao City.
He said initiatives like these help strengthen the longstanding friendship between the Philippines and China by fostering healthcare collaboration, cultural understanding, and meaningful people-to-people exchanges.
The visit underscores the shared commitment of both sides to promote public health, deepen mutual understanding, and explore future opportunities for cooperation that will benefit the people of Davao City.
